What’s Involved in a Private Consultation:
Your appointment with a private consultant doctor begins with a detailed discussion of your medical history and current symptoms. We take time to understand your lifestyle, overall health, and any previous treatments you may have had. A focused physical examination may follow, and where necessary, we arrange diagnostic tests such as blood tests, scans, or imaging to confirm the diagnosis; all these services have extra costs associated but are all available on site.
Once all relevant information is reviewed, your consultant will explain the findings in clear language and outline suitable treatment options. Together, you’ll create a personalised care plan — ensuring shared decision-making and complete understanding before any treatment or medication begins.
Your appointment is 45 mins long and is charged at £150 with our resident Consultant Surgeon.
Should we be unable to provide a specific service that you require, we shall endeavour to help you find a practitioner who can assist.
Our Specialist Medical Services Include:
At Clinic M, our team of expert consultants provides comprehensive, consultant-led medical care across a wide range of specialities. To ensure you receive the most appropriate treatment, we recommend an initial appointment with our Medical Director, who will take responsibility for your overall care and management plan. During this consultation, your health concerns will be triaged and a personalised care pathway will be created, prioritising your wellbeing and directing you to the right specialist if further treatment is needed.
If you already know which service you require or have another healthcare professional overseeing your treatment, you may also book directly with one of our specialist consultants. It is important to note that a medical professional must always take responsibility for directing your care to ensure safe, coordinated treatment.
Our innovative service, MedCheck, offers a cutting-edge, personalised approach by analysing your DNA and current medications. This advanced genetic test identifies how your body processes specific drugs, ensuring the medicines you take are safe, effective, and tailored to your individual biology — reducing unwanted side effects and optimising your treatment outcomes.
At Clinic M, we are committed to providing consultant-led, patient-focused care that combines advanced diagnostics, medical expertise, and compassionate support.
Frequently Asked Questions
What happens after my appointment?
Once your consultation is complete, your doctor will explain the next steps and outline any recommended treatments or investigations. It’s important that you fully understand the information provided — please don’t hesitate to ask questions if anything is unclear.
If you would like a copy of your doctor’s medical notes, you are welcome to request this at the end of your appointment.
Should your clinician recommend a review or follow-up appointment, please note that this will incur a separate charge, typically around £65. This fee covers the time and expertise involved in reassessing your progress and adjusting your care plan as needed.
Will you inform my GP of findings?
You are welcome to inform your GP of your attendance at Clinic M, and we actively encourage open communication between healthcare providers. Sharing information ensures that all practitioners involved in your care have a full understanding of your health history and any treatments undertaken, helping to maintain safe and coordinated care.
Please note, however, that this is not a mandatory requirement. We will share information with your GP or NHS team if you request it, but in some cases, the NHS may not accept private test results or treatment recommendations.
Our priority is to support continuity of care while respecting your privacy, autonomy, and right to control how your medical information is shared.
Do I return for a review?
You are welcome to return for a review appointment (£65). Reviews usually take 20-30 mins if it is the same problem you wish to discuss. If there is another problem or you would like to discuss something else then that will require a new 45 min appointment.
Why are consultations recorded?
At Clinic M, consultations are recorded to ensure accuracy, transparency, and high-quality care. Recording allows the clinician to review details from your appointment to support accurate note-taking and clinical decision-making. It also protects both the patient and the clinician by providing a clear record of what was discussed, helping to prevent any misunderstanding or misinformation.
All recordings are confidential, stored securely in accordance with data protection and medical privacy regulations, and are never shared without your consent. If you would prefer not to have your consultation recorded, please let reception know before your appointment, and your wishes will be fully respected.
Do you take insurance payments?
We do not accept direct insurance payments however, given that a lot of our Consultants are registered with several Insurance companies, you can pay the bill and claim the amount back from your own specific insurance company.
